I was thinking the other day if ChatGPT is going to help scammers write better Phishing emails with no spelling and grammar mistakes and make them look more legitimate.
I was going through some Reddit post related to Phishing this morning and came across something that I thought was interesting.
It turns out the spelling and grammar “mistakes” are intentional for the most part. The scammers insert these mistakes intentionally to give a clue and discourage responses from anyone who isn't gullible enough to fall for their scam and waste their time.
Apart from that, they use spelling errors to escape the spam filters set on some key words and increase their chances of reaching potential victims.
The poster also thought that the errors make them seem more authentic and relatable to the average person, which can help the scammer build rapport with the intended target. That was an interesting take! #phishing #chatgpt #ai
